In order to ensure the highest quality of supplied elements and services for the strategic facility of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa, inter-stage inspections, investor acceptance and industry designers’ supervision were provided during the production.
The installation of the main motor rotor and installation of bearings on the shaft was hydraulic. This method enables easy future disassembly and installation of these elements.

In order to provide actual monitoring of the wear of bearing nodes, a vibration monitoring system was employed. Furthermore, the measurement of vibrations envelope provides information on the technical condition of the main shaft elements. This information enables planning detailed inspections and overhauls in advance.
The hoisting machine is equipped with a hydraulic-controlled disc brake system, which includes the following elements:
- two brake discs,
- four brake columns,
- eight pairs of BSFG 408-A00-02-00 brake cylinders – two pairs per column.

The inverter drive comprises two main circuit DCS800-S01-4000-04 non-reversing thyristor inverters connected in series and a reversing DCS800-S02-0350-05 for main motor excitation. In order to limit the interferences and occurrence of higher harmonics, a 12-impulse system impact was provided by supplying the main circuit inverters from two dry transformers with a appropriate configuration.
The applied configuration enables the possibility of hoist operation with half the rated speed and full overload in case one of the inverters or main transformers is damaged.
For the reservation of the excitation circuit power supply, the excitation cabinet is equipped with a backup converter with identical parameters and a manual switch enabling alternative power supply to the excitation circuit.

The control and safety system as well as the digital hoisting machine travel regulator are based on a redundant system of logical controllers.
The functional and ergonomic machine operator’s station, equipped with the hoisting machine’s status display system as well as shaft signalling and communication equipment, is installed in a air-conditioned and soundproof booth.

Intrinsically safe shaft signalling and communication system
The intrinsically safe shaft signalling and communication system is constructed using a system of redundant logical controllers exchanging data with local stations using optical fibre cables.
The modernised intrinsically safe shaft signalling and communication system provides duplex sound communication between the control and signalling stations of the mine shaft hoist.

Power supply system for control of shaft equipment at the 900, 1050 and 1290 levels
The scope of the project included:
- implementation of interconnections of control and signalling systems for turnstiles at the levels, taking into account mutual interlocks and the operation of the shaft hoist for the mode of personnel travel and materials transport,
- preparation of technical designs, supply of materials and equipment, installation and commissioning of the power and control system for shaft equipment.
SUN conveyance retention system at the 1050 and 1290 levels
The SUN conveyance retention system, completely developed and manufactured by MWM Elektro Sp. z o.o., is designed to stabilise the conveyance during the loading and unloading of materials, output, or the entry and exit of personnel at levels below the depth of 1,000 metres. With the change in the load of the conveyance during its loading or unloading, the SUN system does not allow the length of the hoisting cable to be extended or shortened by a length that depends on the number and type of hoisting cables, the length of the cables and the force of the load.
In the north cage compartment of Shaft VI, the SUN system was used at the 1050 and 1290 levels.
