LV and MV switchgears
We offer the design, installation and commissioning of MV and LV switchgears (cabinets, LV power supply and control sets) in accordance with expectations, customer requirements. MWM Elektro has completed the following tasks in connection with the design, prefabrication (LV scope), assembly and commissioning of MV and LV switchgear, as described in the following sections.
MV switchgears
6kV switchgear at PGG S.A. KWK ROW “Marcel” Mining Plant
Design of a 20-gay 6kV switchgear in the 6/0.5/0.4kV transformer-distribution substation at shaft III and performance of the necessary alterations to the medium-voltage cable connections in the substation (in the area of shaft III) related to the installation of the switchgear in its current location.
The 6kV switchgear in the substation at shaft III was constructed as a 20-bay switchgear based on e2ALPHA-type bays manufactured by Elektrometal-Energetyka S.A. It was equipped with safeguards and e2TANGO-type bay controllers.
As part of the aforementioned task, we also commissioned in the 6kV circuits, a dynamic reactive power compensation system with higher harmonics filtering function linked to the 6kV switchgear in question.

OR-10 6kV switchgear at JSW S.A. KWK Knurów-Szczygłowice, Szczygłowice Mining Plant.
Design and installation with commissioning of a 9-bay 6kV OR-10 switchgear in the shaft III tower on the premises of the JSW S.A. KWK Knurów-Szczygłowice, Szczygłowice Mining Plant.
The 6kV OR-10 switchgear in question supplies power to the circuit of the main drive motor of the hoisting machine of shaft III hoist, east compartment, as well as, via TPW 6/0.5kV 400kVA auxiliary transformers, the circuits of auxiliary LV equipment technologically connected to the hoisting machine. In addition, the switchgear feeds two transformers at the shaft entry level: TIII 6/0.5kV 500kVA and TIV 6/0.4kV 315kVA.
The 6kV OR-10 switchgear was constructed as a 9-bay switchgear based on e2ALPHA-type bays manufactured by Elektrometal-Energetyka S.A. It is equipped with safeguards and Mupasz 710 Plus-type bay controllers.

6kV R 100/II switchgear at PGG S.A. KWK Murcki-Staszic Mining Plant.
Design and installation with commissioning of a 7-bay 6kV R 100/II switchgear in the hoisting machine building of shaft II, west compartment on the premises of PGG S.A. KWK Murcki-Staszic Mining Plant.
The 6kV R 100/II switchgear in question, supplies power to:
– two converter transformers for the main circuit of the drive motor of the hoist of shaft II, west compartment,
– 6/0.5kV auxiliary transformer,
– filtering and compensation system with higher harmonic filters, i.e. 7h, 11h, 13h.
The 6kV R 100/II switchgear was constructed as a 7-bay switchgear based on e2ALPHA-type bays manufactured by Elektrometal-Energetyka S.A. It is equipped with safeguards and e2TANGO-type bay controllers.

6kV R-6.1 switchgear at KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Lubin Mining Plant.
Design and installation with commissioning of an R-6.1 8-bay 6kV switchgear (including an auxiliary bay) in the hoisting machine building of the L-I shaft, east compartment on the premises of the KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Lubin Mining Plant.
The 6kV R-6.1 switchgear in question, after replacement, supplies the main circuit of the drive motor of the modernised hoisting machine of the L-I shaft hoist, east compartment, back-up power supply of the 6kV R-6.2 switchgear (L-I hoisting machine ,west compartment), as well as the circuits of low-voltage auxiliary equipment technologically connected to the hoisting machine, via 6/0.5kV and 6/0.4kV transformers.
The 6kV R-6.1 switchgear was constructed as a 8-bay switchgear based on e2ALPHA-type bays manufactured by Elektrometal-Energetyka S.A.. It is equipped with safeguards and e2TANGO-type bay controllers.
6kV PMW VI N connection at JSW S.A. KWK Budryk Mining Plant.
Design and installation with commissioning of an 8-bay 6kV PMW VI N connection in the hoisting machine building of shaft VI, north compartment, at JSW S.A. KWK Budryk Mining Plant.
The following tasks were carried out as part of the modernisation:
- bay 8 was added for the TG1 converter transformer,
- safeguards were replaced (added) to be compatible with the existing master system operating at the mine.
The 6kV PMW VI N connection supplies power to: - the main circuit for the drive motor of the hoisting machine of the mine shaft hoist in the north compartment of shaft VI,
- the reactive power compensation system with an active higher harmonics filter,
- TPW 6/0.5kV 630kVA auxiliary transformer.
The 6kV PMW VI N connection in the hoisting machine building in the north compartment of shaft VI after modernisation operates 8 bays, constructed on the basis the RS-12m-type bays manufactured by Elektromontaż Wrocław. It was equipped with safeguards and e2TANGO-type bay controllers.

10kV ventilation power supply sets at KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Rudna Mining Plant.
As part of the modernisation of the power supply and control system for the underground main fan station at the R-XI shaft of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. “Rudna” Mining Plant, we designed 10kV power supply sets for three fans designated as ZZ-W.
In the area of each fan chamber, at the -1230m level, technical service rooms SKP-W1-3 were constructed, where the ZZ-W1-3 fan power supply set is designed to be installed.
The ZZ-W1-3 (10kV) fan power supply set, consists of 3 bays, based on
the PREM-G1dM-type bays manufactured by Elektrobudowa S.A. The bays are equipped with safeguards and MiCOM P139-type bay controllers.
6kV RW-2 switchgear at KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Lubin Mining Plant.
Design and installation with commissioning of an RW-2 6-bay 6kV switchgear (including an auxiliary bay) in the hoisting machine building of the L-III shaft on the premises of the KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Lubin Mining Plant.
The 6kV RW-2 switchgear in question, after replacement, supplies the main circuit of the drive motor of the modernised hoisting machine of the L-III shaft hoist, as well as the ‘compensator filter’.
The 6kV RW-2 switchgear was constructed as a 6-bay switchgear based on e2ALPHA-type bays manufactured by Elektrometal-Energetyka S.A.. It is equipped with safeguards and e2TANGO-type bay controllers.
LV switchgears
400/230V and 500V switchgear cabinets
As part of the implementation of the modernisation, the construction of the hoisting machinery, the main fan station, the pumping station and other equipment, it is necessary to install LV switchgears (400/230V, 500V).
We design the LV switchgears, prefabricate at our premises and assemble them on our customers’ plants according to their requirements and expectations.
The designed switchgears are integrated into the electrical power systems of our customers’ plants, and are carefully constructed using components of the highest quality from proven manufacturers of electrical equipment.
We manufacture the following types of LV switchgears:
– board-type (used in electrical system extensions, e.g. in hoist operator cabs, dedicated electrical rooms, transformers, etc.),
– box-type,
– cabinet-type: hanging or standalone – wall-mounted or with access from all sides.
The equipment of our LV switchgears is very diverse. They are equipped with switching equipment as well as control, measurement and signalling equipment. We use technological solutions with automatic operation of back-up systems, HMI panels, etc.
The following photos show several variants of our (completed) switchgears, LV sets with different purposes and functionalities. The following photo overview represents a small “slice” of our range of LV switchgear and control cabinet solutions.
We also design LV switchgears with sliding sections (“drawer” system). In all LV switchgear projects, we also supervise the assembly, installation and commissioning.
400V cabinet switchgear, interior (standalone version). Rudna Mining Plant
LV switchgear at JSW S.A. KWK Budryk Mining Plant.
Prefabrication, assembly and commissioning of 400/230V box-type switchgears for the ongoing investment project: “Extension and modernisation of the JSW S.A. KWK Budryk Mining Plant Coal Preparation Plant”.
As part of the aforementioned scope of works, 13 400/230V standalone switchgears, constructed using a modular plastic box system, were fabricated and installed in the facility. The switchgears were fixed to special support structures, which were placed on the floor at various levels of the facility.
All switchgears were manufactured in accordance with the requirements of PN-EN 61439-2.
