  • supply and installation of the machinery and equipment,
  • cooperation with mining regulators,
  • commissioning and servicing of supplied equipment.

B-1200/AC-2m/s hoisting machine

The B-1200/AC-2m/s type hoisting machine is a component of an auxiliary mine emergency and inspection shaft hoist for the SG-1 shaft of the “Polkowice-Sieroszowice” Mining Plant. It is a single-drum hoisting machine used to provide:

  • evacuation of personnel from the conveyance of the primary hoist stopped in the shaft by emergency or from mine level,
  • inspection and monitoring of the technical condition of the shaft, repair of shaft equipment and shaft works.

The B-1200/AC-2m/s hoisting machine is equipped with a 90 kW AC motor that, together with the drive system, allows the conveyance to move at a speed of 2 m/s. The drive motor is powered by an ACS 880 frequency converter, which works with a braking resistor to dissipate energy during generator operation. The power supply protocol assumes the use of a generator in the event of a power failure from the primary power switchboards.

The primary components of the B-1200/AC-2m/s hoisting machine are:

  • hoisting machine drive, consisting of:
    • helical gearbox with flexible coupling built into the high-speed side of the gearbox,
    • drive motor, induction, high-speed, equipped with impulse generator -B2,
  • main shaft unit, consisting of:
    • main shaft,
    • drum with two welded brake discs and Lebus lining dedicated to working with Ø22 mm rope,
    • two spherical roller bearings, rolling,
  • impulse generator drive,
  • hoisting machine brake, consisting of:
    • two brake columns each with one pair of BSFG 408-A00-02 type hydraulically controlled cylinders,
    • electrohydraulic control and power unit H-C MWM-70 (two units with distribution box),
    • valve forcing an additional oil drainage path ZWDSO-70,
  • power supply consisting of:
    • 500 VAC switchgear – requires 500 VAC power supply from three independent sources. Two of the supplies may come from fixed switchgear and the third from a power generator with a capacity of at least 200kVA to provide power to all essential consumers in the event of a permanent power failure, the switchgear incorporating components for 230 VAC voltage distribution of 230 VAC as well as 230 VAC/24 VDC power supply units.
  • frequency converter type ACS880-01-240A-5 supplying the hoisting machine drive motor, together with a chopper and braking resistor,
  • control, monitoring and safety systems based on PLCs,
  • system for the visualisation and signalling of the operating states of individual components of the machine based on on-screen visualisation,

Technical parameters of the hoisting machine:

  • rope winding diameter in the first layer on the drum 1200 mm,
  • maximum number of layers of the lifting rope wound on the winding drum 6,
  • lifting rope diameter 22 mm,
  • drum reeling capacity (including 3 idle reels) ~1196 m,

  • angle of lifting rope attack on the drum, measured from the horizontal plane 35°÷43°,

Signalling device and shaft communication

The B-1200/AC-2m/s hoisting machine works in conjunction with the shaft signalling device that is part of the emergency and inspection mining shaft hoist.

The applied shaft signalling and communication equipment is constructed using a system of redundant logical controllers exchanging data with local stations using optical fibre cables.

Due to the design of the shaft signalling device, interfacing with the hoisting machine is possible via:

  • exchange of global data declared in the subroutines of the common PLCs (for the hoisting machine and the shaft signalling),
  • communication links. Profibus DP, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP or Profinet can be used as the communication protocol,
  • sending signals through electrical connections.
